Registration process

To create an account, you must provide your name, email address and phone number (if available), password, payment information, and billing information.

Profile

You can choose the information on your profile, such as your education, work experience, skills, photo, city/region and recommendations. You are not required to provide additional information on your profile. 

Publication and uploading to the platform

We collect personal data from you when you provide, publish or upload it to our Services, for example when you complete a form (for instance, demographic data or salary), complete a survey or submit a CV. 

You are not obliged to publish or download any personal data. However, if you do not, your ability to take full advantage of our Services may be limited.

1.2 Third-party data

Content and news

You and third parties may publish content that includes information about you on our Services. Unless you instruct us otherwise, we collect public information about you, such as your professional successes and news (for example, patents obtained, professional awards, conference speeches, projects, etc.). We also make them available as part of our Services.

Partnership

We receive personal data about you when you use the services of our clients and partners, such as employers, potential employers or application tracking systems, which provide us with data on-the-job postings to which you apply.

1.3. Use of the Services

We record usage data when you access (or use in any way) our Services, including our sites, applications, such as when you post or click on content or ads, when you perform a search, or when you apply for ads. We use login credentials, cookies, device information and IP addresses to identify you and to record your activity.

Any third party who purchases our Services for your use, such as your employer or school establishment, provides us with personal data about you and indicates that you qualify to use the purchased Services for employees, students or former students.

As our Services are proactive, we often offer new features that may require the collection of new information. If we collect personal data of a substantially different nature or significantly change our use of your data, we will notify you and also amend this Privacy Policy.

Our use of your personal data depends on the Services you use, how you use them and the options you define in your settings. In some cases, Bazookka may share data with third parties without making them anonymous, but in such situations affected users will be informed and may be entitled to compensation.

We may be required to disclose information about you when we are required to do so by law, an injunction or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is reasonably necessary.

We may share your personal data in connection with a sale, merger or takeover, or in preparation for such events. Any third-party entity purchasing all or part of our company will be allowed to use your data, but only in accordance with this Privacy Policy, unless you specify otherwise.

Even if you only use our Services to search for a new job occasionally, we keep your information and maintain your profile until you close your account.

You have the possibility to control and manage the personal data we hold about you through the preferences.

  • Deletion of data: you may ask us to delete or delete all or part of your personal data (for example, if it is no longer necessary for us to provide you with Services).

4.3. Closing an account

We retain your personal data after the closure of your account if it is reasonably necessary to fulfill our legal obligations (including requests from authorities), comply with regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, apply the Bazookka Terms of Use or respond to your request to no longer receive messages from us (“unsubscribe”). We keep the personalized information after closing your account. 

The information you have shared with third parties will always be visible after you close your account or delete data from your profile or mailbox. We do not control the data that other members copy outside of our Services.

5. Other important information

5.1. Safety and security

We implement security measures to protect your data, such as the HTTPS protocol. We regularly monitor our systems for potential vulnerabilities and attacks. However, this does not allow us to guarantee the safety of the information you send us. There is no guarantee that the data will not be accessed, disclosed, modified or destroyed by a violation of our management, technical or physical protections.

5.2. Cross-border data transfers

We process data both within and outside Canada, and rely on legal processes to legally transfer data across borders. The laws of the countries in which we process data may be different from those of your own country, including less privacy-protecting. 

5.3. Legal basis for processing 

We will only collect and process personal data about you for which we have legal grounds. The legal basis includes your consent. When we process data on the basis of the user’s consent, we will ask for your explicit consent. You may withdraw your consent at any time. This will not affect the legality of the processing of your personal data prior to this change. When bound by a contract, we will ask you to agree to the processing of personal data necessary for the conclusion or execution of your contract with us. We will rely on legitimate interests for the processing of data insofar as your interests and your fundamental rights and freedoms prevail over the processing of your data. (When you have given your consent), the contract (when the processing of the data is necessary for the performance of a contract with you, for example, to provide you with the Bazookka services you have requested) and the “legitimate interests.” 

When the processing of your personal data is subject to your consent, you have the right not to consent or to withdraw your consent at any time; when the processing of your personal data is subject to legitimate interests, you have the right to object.
